As I reflected upon what to say today I must truthfully admit that for once in my life I felt that I was truly at a loss for words...
Although, I did realize, of course, that it was only a matter of time before my wife,  Shirley, would be telling me exactly what to say...  

And of course, I realized Janet, that this is an opportunity for me to have the last word - no chance for rebuttal from you...and let's face it, in a house full of women, this is a rare situation for me...

*just a thought and something a little lighthearted that your daughter might appreciate since you mentioned that you had many heated debates and differences of opinion with Janet when she was a teenager...
and you do live in a house with four women...

Janet, your mother and I want you to know how proud we are of you and your many accomplishments...the fact that you have completed your education and are now practicing law...but, nothing has made us happier than your decision to marry Damian...we could not have picked a more suitable partner for you...

Damian, what can I say to you, except good luck with Janet's cooking...she has always said that her skills lie elsewhere and believe me, she is correct...in fact, some of her culinary skills should be deemed illegal...I can help you with any lawsuit you may need to initiate in the future...I know a good lawyer...

All kidding aside...Shirley and I are so very pleased...
